It’s a family home in Raipur in Chhattisgarh. The clients, a couple with two children, commissioned in 2016 to design ‘the most beautiful house on the street’ within a strict budget. It’s a two-story home characterized vertically. Our design takes its cues from the surrounding to create a house that is about balance and equilibrium, symmetry, and grace. The appropriate opening is proposed in the house considering the Indian climate. The ground floor has one big hall with dining space, a common toilet, kitchen, pooja room, and master bedroom with attached toilet. The first floor comprises of living room, a three-bedroom with an attached toilet and balcony. A staircase leads to the terrace which is covered by an RCC slab. Considering the environment, a terrace garden and solar panel has been proposed at this level.
